Castle Hotels Around Slovakia

Slovakia has a wealth of castles, chateaus, manor houses scattered around towns and villages. Many of them in decrepit state and many for sale at symbolic prices. Over the last few years, several beautiful castles around the country have been restored and turned into hotels.

Picturesque Chateau Bela in southern Slovakia has been converted into a 5-star hotel. There are 45 rooms and suites, spa and conference facilities.

In Zilina a restored baroque chateau garners accolades as Villa Necas - Slovakia's Top Pension in Trend Top rankings for 2008.

Above Liptov, in the town of Liptovsky Hradok, a castle and manorhouse dating back to the 14th century has been converted into a luxury hotel.

Recently restored rennaissance gem, Castle Frisovce, resides in the eponymous village, in the beautiful Upper Saris region.

Chateau Salgovce became famous thanks to a show on UK's Channel 4 Chaos at the Chateau, depicting an English couple's struggle with restoring the property in Slovakia and turning it into a hotel.

Park Hotel Tartuf Beladice
is perhaps best known in Slovakia, to a large degree thanks to its appearance in the Slovak version of the Bachelor TV show. The castle, located near Nitra in Western Slovakia, was originally built in 1820 and later rebuilt in neo-classical style. Now it offers a luxurious hotel and an award-winning restaurant.

Near the capital Bratislava, the Hotel Kamila resides in a restored neo-baroque hunting chateau that used to belong to the Palffy family.
